Fokawa makes money from Stars and mini apps, not from you. Here is what that means in practice.

Encrypted in transit

Every message, call and file travels over HTTPS or WSS, with HSTS preloaded. Nothing on the network in between can read it.

No ads, no pixels, no cookies

No ad network, no advertising pixels, no cross-site profiling, and self-hosted fonts. This page sets no cookies at all. The single third-party script on it is Cloudflare's cookieless page-view counter — open your network tab and check.

Auto-delete timers

Set a conversation to clear itself after a chosen interval, and its messages are removed on a schedule without anyone remembering to.

Block and mute, one tap away

Stop anyone from contacting you, or mute them quietly without telling them.

You choose who can find you

Turn off discovery by ID, phone number, QR code or shared groups independently. Read receipts and story visibility are yours to set too.

Two-factor auth and device control

Turn on TOTP two-factor, see every device signed in to your account, and sign any of them out remotely.

What we don't do: Fokawa is not end-to-end encrypted. Messages are encrypted in transit and stored on our servers so they sync across your devices — which means we are technically able to access them, and we say so rather than implying otherwise. If you need E2EE for a conversation, use a tool built for it.
